Mason jars are the perfect vessel to ferment in: they're easy to find, fit perfectly in kitchen cupboards, are dishwasher safe, and versatile. The Pickle Packer can be used to pounded shredded veggies, like cabbage, to make sauerkraut and other fermented foods. It can also be used to tightly pack Mason jars to cram in as much as possible for fermenting or as a general purpose muddler. I finally found a fermentation project that looks straight forward and that I would like to eat. But most especially it could use a pickle packer. And now I have one and I am going to pickle onions.

Solid, built to last. Price is a bit expensive, but I do love it anyways. I can really make a lot more fit in the mason jars with a lot less effort than pushing with my fingers or potato masher. That was a mess before. Easy to clean and care for.
