This Fermented Hot Honey Recipe is a true gem that you will make over and over again!
It’s so tasty, requires just a few ingredients and it’s super versatile. Goes well with pretty much anything that you want to add some spice to!
Combining the heat of your favorite spicy peppers with the sweetness of honey, this homemade condiment adds a spicy kick to a variety of dishes. We love to add it to dressings, marinades, drizzle on top of meats, bowls, tacos and more!
Ingredients:
*optional: garlic, cinnamon stick
How to:
1. Wash and slice your peppers (use gloves).
2. Add peppers to the jar. Pour a portion of the honey on top and wait for a few seconds for the honey to coat the peppers then add more to fully submerge them.
3. Make sure to use glass weight such as Pickle Pebble so everything stays below the honey. Scoop out any floating seeds on top.
4. Place the Pickle Pipe on top and secure it with Tough Band.
5. Ferment in a dark place such as a kitchen cupboard for 1 to 2 weeks. After the fermenation is completed, remove the Pickle Pebble and replace the Pickle Pipe with a regular Mason jar lid (airtight lid such as this). Store in the fridge for 3 months.
Enjoy!
